What is immigration law?
Immigration deals with the sometimes very complicated, and ever changing, laws controlling entry to the United States.

Immigration lawyers help people deal with the laws and processes that permit persons who are not citizens of the United States to come to the United States for purposes of:

(1) visiting as tourists;

(2) working in the U.S.;

(3) studying in the U.S.; and

(4) becoming a citizen of the U.S.

The content in this section of Free Advice contains basic information to achieve your objectives quickly and with a minimal chance of error. Don't risk ruining your chances to gain entry, work or study in the U.S. or eventually becoming a citizen of the U.S. Anyone who is thinking about becoming more than "just a tourist," should consult an immigration law attorney before contacting the immigration authorities. Also check out the U. S. Immigration and Naturalization Service website for useful information.
