The judge has turned down my claim. Now what happens?

If you lose your asylum case, you can appeal your case to the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and from there to the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. There is a deadline for filing an appeal with the BIA. If you win on appeal, the BIA will either grant you asylum or send your case back to the immigration judge for further proceedings.
